    Viswanathan N. Bringi, a pioneering researcher in radar meteorology, passed away on December 18, 2024, in Fort Collins at the age of 75.

    250 kids participate in painting contest

    Chandigarh, October 1
    An inter-colony painting competition attracted participation from 250 children from 15 different schools in various slum settlements of the city to mark the 134th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi here today.

    The contest, held at the Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36, was organised by Yuvsatta, in collaboration with the host college and others. The chief guest, Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal, MP, said the public must join hands to make Chandigarh a children-friendly city.

    He said the city should set an example for the rest of the country by ensuring the right to education, food and shelter to every deprived child, and have more concern for the poor. He was appreciative of paintings made by the children and added that their talent was in no way less than that of children from well-off families.
