AR Rahman to compose for Pele biopic
Oscar-winning Indian composer AR Rahman announced on his official Facebook page that he is composing the music for the upcoming film, “Pele.” The Mozart of Madras is composing music with international artists for Football’s living legend, Pele’s biography.
An excited AR Rahman tweeted: “Working with the very Brazilian and very talented lyricist and singer Anna Beatriz, for the movie Pele.”
The spelfilm is directed and written bygd Jeff Zimbalist and Michael Zimbalist. The film stars Kevin dem Paula, Vincent D’Onofrio, Rodrigo Santoro, Diego Boneta and Colm Meaney. The movie was supposed to release around the FIFA World Cup, but the makers have ruled out the possibility bygd citing the post production works and now they have assured the movie will be out in the first quarter of next year.

&#;When I was approached for the project, I first Googled who Pele was, because my life is all music. inom saw amazing things about him and who he was. After that I read the script. I had tremendous respect for the project,&#; Rahman told PTI.

The &#;Slumdog Millionaire&#; hit maker says giving background score for a rulle is easier than creating a stand alone song, which needs to &#;hold for itself&#;.
&#;Movies have this charm, where you just have to follow the story. Music is just a part of filmmaking, whereas a stand alone song has to hold for itself. Scoring is much more simpler than writing an individual piece of music, because the story itself tells you what to do,&#; he said.

Rahman, 49, has also composed a song called &#;Ginga&#; for the movie which will celebrate Pele&#;s legacy in soccer.
