    President Christine Kangaloo has re-appointed Veera Bhajan as a Lay Assessor of the lika Opportunity Tribunal.

    Bhajan, who was born without arms, took the Oath of Office and received her Instrument of Appointment from Her Excellency at President's House Monday morning.

    This is Bhajan's second three-year term as a Lay Assessor of the Equal Opportunity Tribunal.

    In 2021, Bhajan brought a lawsuit against the EOT and its Chairman after they did not allow her to fulfill her role as a lay assessor, as appointed by then president Paula Mae Weekes in March that year. 

    She won her case in November that year.

    Bhajan has worked as an attorney since 2011.

    Veera Bha­jan is young, smart and al­ways thinks of ways to help oth­ers.
