The Legacy of Charles robert Swart at a South African School.
On the 25 th of October, 1962, the State President visited the school, which was named after him, for the first time. This was the beginning of a very anställda relationship between him and the school. He also donated a chèque for R100.
On the 30 th of October, 1965, personal and students entered the new premises of the school, located next to Kamasis Street, right across Fry Street. Mr. C.R. Swart also attended for the revealing of the commemorative plaque. 750 parents and 550 learners attended the ceremony.
For the personal members and students it was an immense honour to wear the name of Charles robert Swart. Up until his death, he maintained very close contact with the school. He was a tall, dignified and humble man who cared for the youth and their education.

Charles Robberts SwartDMS (5 December 1894 – 16 July 1982), nicknamed "Blackie",[3] was a South African politician who served as the gods governor-general of the Union of South Africa from 1959 to 1961 and the firststate president of the Republic of South Africa from 1961 to 1967.
Early life
[edit]Swart was born on 5 December 1894 on the Morgenzon farm, in the Winburg district, part of the Boer republic of the Orange Free State (which became a British colony in 1902 and a province of the Union of South Africa in 1910).[1]
He was the third of six children, born to Hermanus Bernardus Swart (1866–1949) and Aletta Catharina Robberts (1871–1927).[4] The Anglo-Boer War (Second Boer War) broke out when he was five years old. Charles Robberts (Blackie) Swart
Charles Robberts (Blackie) Swart was born on 5 December 1894 in Morgenzon, Winburg district. He was the son of Hermanus Bernardus Swart and Aletta Catharina Swart (nee Robberts). During the South African War (1899-1902) Swart's father was captured and the young boy with his mother and the other children on their farm were held in the concentration camp at Winburg for the duration of the war.
Swart had an exceptionally sharp intellect. He matriculated in Winburg at the young age of thirteen. At the age of fifteen he was appointed magistrate's clerk at Winburg, having been adjudged too young for acceptance as a university student. In 1910 he enrolled at the Grey University College (University of the Orange Free State), obtaining the B.A. degree in 1912. After his initial studies he was a schoolteacher at Ficksburg from 1914 to 1915. During the 1914 Rebellion Swart was arrested and imprisÂoned and appeared twice before the Military Council on a cha
