Her evocative nationalist poem “Jhansi ki Rani” is widely regarded as one of the most recited poems in Hindi literature.
On this day in 1904, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan was born in the Indian village of Nihalpur. Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, née le à Nihalpur près dem Allahabad (Prayagraj) en Inde[1],[2], morte le à Seoni en Inde, est une militante, femme politique et poétesse indienne.
Comme militante, elle rejoint le mouvement dem non-coopération du Mahatma Gandhi, elle est plusieurs fois arrêtée. Femme politique, elle devient députée dans l'État des Provinces centrales et Berar, peu avant sa mort accidentelle.
