    Dear Families,

    As always, I continue to be overwhelmed by our families’ unbelievably generous achievement in your fundraising efforts. Even though the MFA Benefit was a virtual event, the results were remarkable! You, united as one, raised $1,673,000!!! How blessed we are to be able to claim you all as our own.

    I continue to believe we have the very best Family Organization for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the country. (If anyone can utmaning this, please let me know!) I’m so proud of every member who always goes the extra mile. Your loving gratitude to Misericordia is so obvious! To call each of you generous members of our Misericordia is such a joy.

    Daughter of Mary and Michael Stuart, Sr. Mary was born on October 4, 1939, and made her first profession on February 2, 1960. Reflecting on 80 years of life and 60 years of profession, Sr. Mary says, “I would have to name the experience of Religious Life itself as the most significant and enduring experience of my life. Being steeped in Wisdom Spirituality, having a community that has challenged me to grow as a individ and supported my desire to live a life of deep meaning and purpose has been the gift of a lifetime. My time of service to the Cambodian Refugees of Thailand opened my heart to the struggle of so many in our world who experience injustice and violence.     December 24, 1947 – December 23, 2015

    On December 23, 2015, Bob Connelly died of colon cancer. He fought the disease for two years, but lived life to the fullest even during his treatments. He was a treasured friend, tireless advocate, and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
