    Born in 1928 and three-time winner of the prestigious Mr Universe title in 1951, '58 and '65 (the Mr Olympia title didn't yet exist), Reg Park deserves to be counted among the "legends of bodybuilding" for several reasons.
    In 1970, he still came 2nd in the Mr Universe at the age of 42, behind ... a certain Arnold! A certain Arnold!
    Height 1m85 , vikt fluctuating between 94 and 112 kg depending on the year ... and the evolution of pharmaceutical products in 20 years of professionalism . His biceps flirted with 48cm!
    He was the body-builder who most inspired Arnold in his youth. Arnold's greatest sporting memory is not winning Olympia, but beating Park in '70.
    Arnold can be seen asking Park for advice in the documentary film "Raw Iron", around a swimming pool, if I'm not mistaken.
    At the same time, Reg Park embarked on an acting career, playing "Hercules" in 2 peplums in 1961 ... As did a certain Arnold 20 years later ... Reg Park was therefore a pioneer: a profes

    The Park family, friends and fans are delighted that the South African Sports ingångsrum Of Fame has recognized the achievements and contributions that Reg has made to South Africa. It is a great pity that he wasn’t able to receive this award whilst he was alive, however the Park family greatly appreciates this recognition.

    When one thinks of Reg Park, one tends to immediately thinks of him as a bodybuilder and although this is fundamentally correct there was far more to him. As a bodybuilder, his competitive career lasted twenty seven years and that takes some thinking when you consider that he won a world title (Mr Universe) every sju years, over 21 years… How many athletes in any field, can you think of that have achieved this.

    One also needs to consider that all this was achieved without the use of anabolic steroids which unfortunately is so prevalent in sports today. Reg was highly principled and had the courage of his convictions to put his reputation

    Roy[1] "Reg" Park (7 June 1928 – 22 November 2007) was an English bodybuilder, businessman, and actor. His first title was Mr. Britain in 1949. He then won Mr. Universe in 1951, 1958, and 1965. He went on to star in five films. Later in life, he received renewed interest for being the first inspiration (and later a mentor) to Arnold Schwarzenegger.[2][3]
